Pushing Through & Breaking Ground

As Spring ushers in warmth and sunlight and growth, I'm thinking of how we experience personal growth. How do you measure it? It's not as simple as tangible outward success... Ease. Flow. Abundance. Security.

It would be lovely if personal growth looked pretty and graceful. Our culture perpetuates the idea of a polished Instagram life, but reality is far more complicated than a carefully posed and filtered photo. When you are facing adversity, feeling the squeeze of a difficult situation, that is a key signal that it is time for growth. What about this situation is rubbing you the wrong way? What values are being stepped on? What have you compromised?

There are seeds under the soil right now, sending up their tender young shoots. Imagine them pushing through rocky soil, facing the perils of a late frost or drought, or to be tread upon or foraged by small animals. Sometimes the conditions for growth seem hostile or near impossible. Still the plant is hardwired to seek the light. It only knows it should grow.

How can you take this lesson into your own life right now? I call upon you to be like that tender shoot. Whatever your challenges are right now, don't lose sight of the light -the vision of your dream come true!

Don't wait for things to get easier. Don't wait for the drama to be over. Don't put it off until the hardship ends. Don't wait until you lose those extra pounds. Don't wait for a more convenient time.

That's right. I'm calling upon you to rise to the challenges you are facing. It might go against your instincts and your nature. You might want to retreat or hide out. What will it take for you to lean in? To push forward still? What is the cost for you to stay as confined as a teeny-tiny seed, all potential held in suspension? What happens if you stay here?

I challenge you to rise up, and to keep going.

You are naturally creative, resilient, innovative & strong!

Happy Spring, Happy Passover, Happy Easter!
